The Way I Live… the lost post [7-14-12]

The Way I Live means sometimes… my posts get eaten by the computer.  I was so excited the other day.  Writing and writing when suddenly my computer started to act funny.  Yep, a program that was pretending to be Live Writer (the application I use to blog) was doing horrible things.  I ended up having to shut the computer down and like an idiot… forgot to try to save first.

I had written about the week, linked to all sorts of sites that were important in the planning of the coming weeks and just felt good about my post.  Well, it is gone.  Let it go Robin… Let it go!

I am going to be honest and say I haven’t been running like I should. My body and I just don’t agree on feeling good.  Working on feeling better at my favorite chiropractic place on the planet…Bachmeier Chiropractic.  Dixie has been working on me since the January and while many of my DAILY aches and pains have gone away, there are some issues with my knees, my back and a few other things that plague me while I work out and at other times.  I love the techniques she uses and come away from each appointment feeling awesome.

The blog may be a bit splotchy the coming weeks.  I am incredibly busy and need to be honest about that.  I am currently working on the final planning of a golf tournament that happens each year in Bowman.  Sometime this year, I was put ‘in charge’ so to speak of the board.  One of those times in life when I am not certain, but I may have been roped into something.  I am really enjoying it and it gives Chad and I something in common.  Oddly, we have found after 10 years of marriage, we really don’t have as much in common as we thought.  If you want to check out info on the tournament it is on July 20 and 21st.  We take 120 golfers and I am currently sitting with 5 people on a waiting list. It is exciting to me because we work hard to provide a fun weekend but more importantly (to me) we give money back to our community.

This weekend is the Bowman County Fair.  I’m not a huge fair going person (unless The Johnny Holm Band is playing), but I do like to take in the 4-H auction (my dad sells it) each year if I can and we ride on a fire truck in the parade.  Our county fair does not have a carnival which is both a blessing and a curse.  The kids would love it, but I would not want to stand in the heat for hours so I’m good with it either way.

In 2 weeks, I will be going to Colorado.  I am super excited to be participating in the Shape Diva Dash with one of my best friends in the world, Sarah, and many new friends that I met while in Colorado last fall.  The event is on Saturday and then Sunday and Monday we will be attending fundraisers for Team Gleason.  We will be golfing at Golffest 2012 to raise money to help those affected by ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis).  My friend, Keri Doolittle, a crazy-talented photographer in the Denver area invited me down to support her brother’s organization.  Steve Gleason and his wife are an amazing example of a couple who will not stop fighting to help others even though their lives are turned upside down by a debilitating disease.  Check out the Team Gleason link to hear Steve’s story.  If you think you recognize his name… you might.  He is a former New Orlean’s Saints football player and was featured in several stories during this years football season (including the Super Bowl).

When I get back there will only be a few weeks before school starts back again for my girls.  Emma in 2nd grade and Olivia starting kindergarten.  Sort of crazy.

I have no idea what the original post supposed to have for a ‘point’ but I am happy that I shared my links with you for some cool sites.  Check them out and don’t hold your breath for my next post.  I will try but who knows how that will work out.

Oh, a site I keep forgetting to tell you to read… www.touchingyourheart.net Jodi is over there sharing some stories about her journey to feeling better as well.  Check it out!  You won’t regret it.

Just for Today
1.  Enjoyed sleeping in for a LONG time today.  Ahhhh.
2.  Watched my Dad sell the 4H sale at the county fair today. Love to see that each year!
3.  Got an email from Brazil.  Love keeping in touch with Mom’s friend Gabi.
4.  My neighbor made me the most delicious popcorn today.  Nice surprise.  Thanks Jodi!
5.  No Coke for me since sometime in April… shocking to me… completely shocking that it has been this long.

I will be calling Dixie first thing Monday to get my knees worked on some more.

Onward!

I just wanted to pop on here and let you know that you are doing a GREAT job with the Oilfield tournament, when it is all said and done on Saturday night I hope you are able to sit back and relax and be proud of what you have done. It is hard doing big things for the first time… believe me I know. The best part though is looking back and knowing it was all worth it.

Many years ago we found that we had a connection with Fly lady…I know you are wanting to make some changes at home… remember babysteps. Start with one spot and try to declutter a little bit everyday. Recruit the kids.. I have found that my girls love to help out and if they can earn a few quarters for games at E & T or Windy’s they like that too. If you are ever in need of advice or you just need to bounce and idea please dont hesitate to call… I would be happy to help.

Wishing you much success on all of your new journeys….
    Take Care,
    Tana
