Well, I didn’t do very well with my photo a day project or blogging on a consistent basis for 2011, but I can sure give some of my goals another try and see if I improve. Michael Jordan didn’t make every freethrow and win every game you know. So, back at it for the new year.
As a little girl, I remember going to hang out with my Grandma on New Year’s Eve. She started something many moons ago that has grown to be quite a tradition with my family. The banging of the pots and pans to welcome the new year. Images of this great event will be posted for 1-1-2012.
A new tradition that has been started by Kelly Braun (lover of fireworks) is to have a New Year’s Eve celebration at Tom and Nita’s farm with a fireworks show that is unforgettable and often quite cold. There have been years we needed to be nestled together in a shelter with huge heaters to stay warm. Last year, no shelter, but cold it was. This year. Cold again, but the kids braved the weather and so did a few adults. Thanks to Kelly and Colby for a great show. My girls love it every year!
Madison and Lexi watching the show from the deck. The tree lights went out shortly after this image and sort of freaked me out. Learned later, they are on a timer.
Above you will find Grandma Nini (Nita) and Madison welcoming the new year together.
It was so wonderful to be together this year. We have missed Madison and Reagan since they moved to Bismarck. Wonka Tonka Day… a post to come with a story that makes Grandma smile from Heaven each and every year.
